Can bibs be transferred for the race?
Bibs are not-transferable.
Please note: Only participants running under their own registrations will be eligible for prizes.

What time does the race start?
The race starts at 7:30 AM for runners and walkers. (No strollers, roller blades, skateboards, or bicycles please.)

What is the minimum age for participation in the Hershey Half Marathon?
All participants must be a minimum of 14 years of age. There is a Kids' Fun Run on Saturday evening for ages 2-13.

What are the prizes for top finishers?
Top Male Finisher: $300 and Top Female Finisher: $300

Winners will be preliminarily decided at the finish line. Monetary prizes will be mailed after all results have been confirmed with Mid-Atlantic Timing.

Are there Shuttles available for runners who stay at Hershey Resorts?
Yes! Guests of The Hotel Hershey, Hershey Lodge and Hersheypark Camping Resort will have shuttle transportation to the Hersheypark Complex from 6 AM - 7 AM, and following the race until 12 PM.

Is there a Kids Fun Run?
There is a Kids Fun Run in Hersheypark Stadium on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 5:15 PM, and the Fun Run sells out quickly. Event costs $12 and we recommend signing up early to secure a spot.

How much is the race?
Single: May 1 - June 10: $80; June 11 - October 7*: $90
Relay: May 1 - June 10: $140; June 11 - October 7*: $160
*Registration open through October 7 or until event sells out

Are paper registration forms available?
No. All registrations must be completed online. Accepted forms of payment are Visa and Master Card.

I registered for the race, but didn’t receive an email confirmation. Is my registration confirmed?
At times, email servers block the confirmation emails. You can search your spam folder.

Are there pre-determined locations to watch the race?
Yes, anyone wishing to cheer on racers are encouraged to do so at Hersheypark Stadium or the downtown Hershey. Unfortunately due to space limitations, there is no room for spectators at the halfway point.

When can I pick up my race packet?
Saturday, October 14 from 10 AM - 5 PM, packets can be picked up at The Ice Palace (directly across from the Hersheypark Stadium Box office on the west end of Hersheypark Arena).
On Sunday, October 15 starting at 6 AM, packets can be picked up in the Stadium Club in Hersheypark Stadium. Note, location for packet pickup can change, so be sure to read the email sent week of event regarding details.

Can someone else pick up my race packet?
Yes, as a convenience, this year we are allowing others to pick up race packets for friends and family.

What will runners see in Hershey?
Runners will start and end at Hersheypark Stadium. The route includes a section of Hersheypark, Chocolate Avenue (featuring our famous streetlights!) , Milton S. Hershey’s home – High Point mansion, Milton Hershey School and more!

Can I listen to music (headphones, earbuds, ipods, etc.)?
For the safety of all participants, we do not recommend the use of any electronic devices while participating in the Hershey Half Marathon.

Is Hersheypark open?
Hersheypark In The Dark is open during race weekend. As part of your registration, you’ll receive 2 complimentary tickets to the Park in your race packet as well as a discounted coupon off admission for additional tickets. Additional tickets can be purchased online or at the Ticketing Services Building located near the tram circle.

Can we go to the Park on Friday, October 13?
While the Park is open to the public on Friday, your complimentary tickets will only be available during packet pick-up on Saturday and Sunday. We will be unable to distribute tickets in advance. Additional tickets may be purchased online or at the Ticketing Services Building.

What else is there to do for spectators and families?
Hershey’s Chocolate World is open at 9 AM each day in October. Closing times vary. Chocolate World is located within walking distance to the stadium. On Saturday evening, a Fun Run for children 13 and under will be held at Hersheypark Stadium.

On Sunday, the Half Marathon kicks off at 7:30 AM for runners and walkers, Spectators can view the race from various locations around town, or remain at the stadium to view the start and finish.

If I get injured and cannot participate, are refunds available?
No, refunds are not available for the Hershey Half Marathon and registration fees cannot be applied to other Hershey races and events.

Is the race registration fee refundable?
No. Once you have registered for the race, your position is secured in the race. We are unable to provide refunds to participants.

What timing system is being used for the race?
The Hershey Half Marathon will be timed by Mid-Atlantic Timing. Your disposable timing tag will be attached to the back of your race bib. Do not remove this chip from the bib. Be sure to wear your bib on the front of your body where it can be seen and not under any layers of clothing and run through the finish arch. After you have completed the race, walk over to one of the rapid results kiosks near the finish line to look up your finish time. more about the RM Timing System from Mid-Atlantic Timing.
How will the relay work?
Relay teams will consist of 2 persons. Due to space limitations at the exact halfway point, the runner completing the first leg of the race will run 6.7 miles, with runner #2 running 6.4 miles.

Transportation will be available to and from the half-way mark for those participating in the relay. Please note that ONLY registered participants will be permitted on the relay buses. Buses will be located at Hersheypark Stadium north-east gate. These buses will run on a constant loop to and from the half-way point.

What are the pace requirements?
Runners and walkers must maintain a 14 minute/mile pace. All participants must be clear of the course by 10:35 AM. Those who cannot maintain this pace may be transported back to the finish line, or must move off public roads and on to sidewalks. These participants must also understand that Aid Stations and race support may not be available after this time.

If I am a runner and a walker, what should I register as?
If you intend to run or jog at all, you should register as a runner. The walker division is strictly for those who intend to walk the entire race.

Can I get my finishers medal engraved?
Yes! We have partnered with iTab to create an engraved label to place on the back of your Hershey Half Marathon Medal. For just $10, you can get your name and finished time engraved and sent to you to place on the back of your medal. Visit iTab.com for more information and to purchase your iTab.

Is there a hotel affiliated with the race?
The Hotel Hershey, Hershey Lodge and Hersheypark Camping Resort are the Official Resorts for the Hershey Half Marathon. Find out more on HersheyPA.com.

What if it rains?
There is not a rain date for this event. It will be held rain or shine.

Are there showers available for runners?
Yes! The men’s and women’s locker rooms at Hersheypark Stadium will be open for post-race showers.

What is Children’s Miracle Network?
Children’s Miracle Network’s mission is to support the Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital by purchasing state-of-art equipment and by supporting vital programs. All dollars raised locally stay local to help all children treated at the Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital. To help raise funds individually for CMN click here.

Will there be an Expo or Vendor Village this year?

Yes, we are building a list of vendors to participate in our expo. Vendors will be on-site Saturday, October 14 from 10 AM - 5 PM.

Are there vendor slots available for the Expo?

Yes, a vendor area will be provided this year. Email us or call 717-534-3418. There is limited availability of slots available.

Is there a Facebook page for the Hershey Half Marathon?
